How we make money

Full, plain-language affiliate disclosure. Short version: retailers pay us a commission when you buy through our links, and it never changes your price.

Affiliate commission, not your money

Tonduk is free to use. We make money through affiliate commission: when you click a retailer link on our site and make a purchase, that retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. This comes out of the retailer's margin — your price is exactly the same as if you had gone to them directly.

What that means in practice

  • You never pay Tonduk anything.
  • Commission does not change the price a retailer charges you.
  • Commission does not change our ranking. Offers are sorted by price (and other objective factors we describe in our methodology), never by how much a retailer pays us.
  • Retailer links are tagged as sponsored affiliate links (rel="sponsored") for transparency and to comply with search-engine guidelines.

UK advertising rules (ASA / CAP)

Under UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and CAP Code guidance, affiliate links are a form of advertising and must be clearly identified. That's why pages with retailer links carry an "Ad" or affiliate label near the links.

Sponsored placements

If we ever feature a retailer as a paid placement, it will be clearly labelled "Sponsored" and kept separate from our objective price ranking. We don't do fake urgency, countdown timers, or other dark patterns.

Price accuracy

Prices change constantly. Every price we show is timestamped ("as of…"), and stale offers are hidden. Even so, always confirm the final price and availability on the retailer's own site before you buy.
